Seoul City Warriors went down to a chastening 7-4 defeat this evening, paying the price for a slow start and tactical missteps.
Final score: Seoul City Warriors 4 - 7 Hanam Selection Team
Coming up against a team filled with the best young players from Hanam City, correct preparation was essential. However, a lackluster warmup meant Warriors were slow to start, and Hanam also exploited defensive vulnerabilities as the new 3-5-2 formation first trialed in recent got another run out. Warriors soon found themselves 3 goals down, as the fantastic young players on their opposing side ran riot.
After a change in formation, Warriors began to exert more control. Although they conceded another goal, they were able to pull 1 back and went in at halftime 4-1 behind.
The second half saw a big improvement, as a penalty from manager Jay Seo, as well as goals from Younes El Rajfi and Tatsuya Kusano, gave the Warriors some hope. The fighting spirit and teamwork shown in the last pre winter break game vs FC Byucksan were again on show. Sadly, Hanam still carried too much threat and also bagged some more goals themselves to leave a final score of 7-4 to the home side.
A tough defeat in the end, but as always valuable lessons learned and an impressive display of perseverance and determination from the Warriors. On to the next game!
